This is VDN100, the City of York's former Bedford ET. It is seen at Monte's yard in Fencehouses in County Durham around 1983/4. At the time i didn't know it was a Fire Appliance, much less the signifigance of it. I thought it was a Post Office Van! There were several Fire Appliances here, including some from North East Brigades. Monte's had two sites, this one and another behind a set of Terrace Houses in the Town itself. The site shown in the picture, and everything in it, was cleared long ago, and there are bungalows on it now.Previous | NextIncident support unit brought over to Tadcaster for photography by the FBS on a visit by the FBS in 1998.
