Even HST units in Blue livery are historic now, I remember them when they were new in May 81, and whilst I was upset that they were ousting the Deltics, I thought they were still exciting.

Railways in the NE 2 (an acquired collection)
This Routemaster turned up in 1987 for an Art Exhibition called the best of British, in which British icons were displayed.Not surprisingly a Routemaster was included in the Exhibition. It is seen in Middlesbrough. (J.Walker/500 Group)

This partly customised example was seen at Shildon at the Bus Rally in 2008. Its a bit of a bizzare colour scheme if you ask me! Wonder what they would have thought of it at Torslanda?

Whilst in London's Hampstead High Street with my Girlfriend recently, we came across this Routemaster on Wedding Duties. A frantic leap from the car secured this phot moments before it moved off!

944FOE belongs to the owner of Bank Top Garage in Billingham. It is yet to be fully restored.

Cleveland Transit's last L500 class Fleetlines c1987/8.
In the late 80's Thornaby Depot had several class 20's with local interest names, here 20156 named HMS Endeavour (Captain Cook's ship) stands on one of the shed roads in 1988. Despite having a preference for BR blue, I did like these,(and the named 37's).

The first view, H106 up against the boundry fence at Jones in Llanthethlu on Anglesy. There was plenty of Ivy growing up the side, which harboured some impressive spiders!!

H106 The 500 Group's Ex Cleveland Transit Bristol VR .
 This was the first time I actually managed to get a picture of it, she is seen here at the Beamish Rally in 1985. It was painted in this fake TRTB Green livery because the cusdodian didn't like Turquoise!

JDC599 the 500 Group's 1958 Ex Middlesbrough Corporation Dennis Loline Mk1.
This was the first picture that I managed to get of G16, I was on my way to a friends and it passed me, so I followed it, and photographed it along with its callout - Fleetline L560. This was in Nov 1987.

V781DAJ new in 2000 to Acomb in York, is a Volvo FL6.14 WrL with Emergency One bodywork. It is seen at that years Preston Park rally before it's delivery to Acomb.

This was converted to a CU by Durham after the War. It is preserved in the North East, and is seen at Preston parkin 2005.

This is the well known AEC Regent three/Merrweather PE as preserved by Mr Pearson. it's seen on the 2006 Tyne Tees Run at Bents Park South Shields, the Machines home town.

This machine was seen when it was brand new at Preston Park in 2000, it subsequently went to Alwick. It is designated as a WrT/ET, as were most of Northumberlands Volvos.
